Resume

The prevalence of osteoporosis in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women is comparable to the epidemic of the 21st century. Although there is not enough information about the pathogenesis of the disease, the available data already allow the development of treatment principles and preventive measures in women of this contingent. The article provides information on the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, principles of treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in the elderly in general
