Resume

Exact prognosis for mother-to-fetus transmission of intrauterine infections to cause perinatal infectious inflammatory diseases in the newborn is still impossible and remains among the topical problems in the present-day obstetrics and perinatology. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk factors for the presence of intrauterine infections in the newborn.

The main objectives are: to reveal the specifics of clinical, obstetric and gynecologic anamnesis of the women with intrauterine infections which appear in their newborn children; to assess the specific details of the histological findings of the placentas and the data of clinical and laboratory examination of the pregnant women with intrauterine infections diagnosed; to determine the frequency of occurrence of inflammatory infectious diseases in the newborn with an intrauterine infection present.

The findings obtained allowed us to work out a table which offers the possibility for performing differential diagnostics and providing appropriate treatment with due consideration of the risk factors for the presence of an intrauterine infection in the newborn as well as the risk level.
