Results: A comparison of the data on the course of pregnancy and childbirth, depending on the structural changes in the placenta, allowed us to find out the difference in the occurrence of placental insufficiency in the first and second groups. Conclusion: The main etiopathogenetic sign of placental dysfunction in pregnant women of the first group was an infectious lesion of placental tissue and fetal membranes.
