Resume

In modern medicine, according to world statistics, a significant increase in the number of pregnant women with metabolic syndromes, as well as with disorders of carbohydrate metabolism, has been established. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GSD) is one of the most common diseases during pregnancy and is associated with a high risk of developing pathologies such as preeclampsia, premature birth, hypoxia and fetal death, fetal macrosomia leading to birth trauma of the mother and fetus. Despite the urgency of the problem, the problems of the relationship of thyroid pathology, metabolic syndromes and obesity with disorders of carbohydrate metabolism during pregnancy and their role in the increase of insulin resistance, which is the main factor in the formation of GSD, remain poorly understood to date. Data on the relationship between thyroid function and GSD are currently contradictory and require clarification.

Keywords: Pregnancy, gestational diabetes, insulin resistance.
