Resume

Primary congenital glaucoma is a global problem in pediatric ophthalmology, as it leads to high visual disability. The review discusses diagnostic research methods and surgical methods for the treatment of glaucoma in children. A detailed examination under general anesthesia is necessary to make a diagnosis and choose a method of treatment. The main treatment for glaucoma in children is surgery. Medical therapy plays a limited role, and surgery remains the mainstay of treatment. Surgical methods such as goniotomy or trabeculotomy ab externo are the main methods of treating congenital glaucoma, a good result for intraocular stabilization is given by primary combined trabeculotomy-trabeculectomy. Trabeculectomy with an antifibrotic agent and drainage devices is effective in the treatment of refractory glaucoma.

Keywords: primary congenital glaucoma, goniotomy, trabeculotomy, trabeculectomy.
