Resume

The material is based on the results of analysis and treatment of 55 patients with post-traumatic urethral strictures. All patients before admission to the clinic had previously been operated on in other medical institutions.

In this category of patients, repeated surgical interventions present certain difficulties and difficulties due to pronounced cicatricial changes in the wall of the urethra and its surrounding tissues. The success of the surgical intervention largely depends on the level of the selected proximal end of the urethra, which makes it possible to achieve its alignment in any area and depth of the perineal wound, as well as on a correctly applied anastomosis.

Efficient drainage and lavage of the anastomotic area using a draining catheter prevents its infection and has a beneficial effect on tissue healing processes.

Good results were noted in 98.2% of observations, and only one patient had an unsatisfactory result; subsequently, these patients underwent restoration of the urethra from the skin of the scrotum.
