Resume

This review article attempts to analyze and systematize the current scientific literature data on the etiology, pathogenesis of ADHD and clinical manifestations of sleep disturbance in this syndrome. The publication is aimed at neurologists and pediatricians. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common clinical forms of attention deficit disorder in childhood. The occurrence of ADHD is based on neurobiological factors: genetic mechanisms, organic damage to the central nervous system at various stages of its formation, as well as their combination. The main clinical manifestations of ADHD in childhood include attention disorders, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. In just 30% of cases, ADHD can occur without any complications, and in the rest it is accompanied by comorbid disorders. The most common of these are sleep disorders (29.3%), schooling difficulties (24.4%), anxiety disorders (24.4%), oppositional defiant disorder (22%), autism spectrum disorders (12%), delayed speech development (14.6%), in addition to enuresis, tension headaches, migraines and tics.
