Resume

Purpose Will evaluate the efficacy of inositol and 100 mcg folic acid dietary supplement in the treatment of menstrual irregularities in women with COVID-19.

Materials and methods. The study included 60 women aged 18 to 36 years with menstrual dysfunction due to COVID-9. Of these, 20 women were with oligomenorrhea and 20 with opsomenorrhea. Menstrual dysfunction in patients was characterized by oligomenorrhea in 33.3% and opsomenorrhea in 33.3% of women. For the correction of menstrual disorders, we first used a dietary supplement containing 1000 mg of inositol and 100 micrograms of folic acid. All patients underwent a comprehensive clinical, laboratory and instrumental study.

Result: After 3 months of corrective therapy with the use of a dietary supplement containing 1000 mg of inositol and 100 μg of folic acid, the menstrual cycle returned to normal in 84.5% of patients, positive dynamics of folliculogenesis and hormone levels in blood plasma were noted. Ovulation was registered in 85% of women.

Conclusion. The use of a dietary supplement containing 1000 mg of inositol and 100 μg of folic acid in the treatment of menstrual disorders in women against the background of COVID-19 improves the quality of life by 2.4 times and leads to the normalization of the menstrual cycle in 84.5%, ovulation – in 85 % of women.

Key words: menstrual cycle, oligomenorrhea, opsomenorrhea, dietary supplements, inositol and folic acid.
