Resume

This article describes an improved method of applying esophagoanastomosis with balloon tamponade of the cardiac part of the stomach and with a 180° rotation of the esophagus around its axis and suturing the anterior wall of the esophagus in young children diagnosed with esophageal atresia. The proposed tactical and technical approaches have made it possible to reduce the frequency of early postoperative complications and mortality associated with the operation, improve the quality of life of young children. With the proposed method, deaths were 12.0%, with the traditional 33.3%, i.e., the proportion of favorable outcomes increased from 66.6% to 87.5%.

Key words: esophageal atresia, esophagoanastomosis, young children, surgical treatment.
