Resume

It is known that the diagnosis of Ledd’s syndrome is based on x-ray imaging of the abdominal cavity, but this method is not always informative. Currently, for the accurate diagnosis of this malformation, ultrasound sonography is used in most cases and it is believed that this method is informative than contrast radiography of the digestive tract. This article presents the data of sonography and retinography in children with Ledd’s syndrome in a comparative aspect. In each case, the positive and negative results of the study, belonging to intestinal malrotation, the specificity and sensitivity of the ultrasonographic method using ROC analysis were compared. In patients with suspected Ledd’s syndrome on the basis of “whirlpool”, specificity, sensitivity, positive and negative prognostic indicators were respectively 85.7%, 91.7%, 90.9% and 94.1% of cases, i.e., ultrasonographic the method with 95% accuracy made it possible to diagnose this malformation.

Key words: ultrasound sonography, whirlpool sign, Ledd’s syndrome, malrotation, children.
