EXPRESSION LEVELS OF BCL-2 ANTI-APOPTOTIC PROTEIN IN FEMALE URETHRAL POLYPS

Resume

Expression levels of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 were found in urethral polyps in women. The results showed that in the integumentary epithelium of the urethra in the control group, it was found that this protein is expressed only at a low level in the basal layer. During the beginning of the metaplastic process in the variable epithelium in the initial period of the polyp, it was noticed that the expression of Bcl-2 protein was increased in the cells of the basal layer of the epithelium, where acanthosis developed. During polyp formation, it was observed that all basal epithelial cells underwent metaplasia and were positioned vertically, with relatively higher levels of Bcl-2 protein expression in their basal and intermediate basal cells.
