Resume
This article is a review article describing the etiology, embryology, pathogenesis, and methods of investigation of congenital atresia of the external auditory canal. Anomalies of the external ear are common and occur in approximately 5% of the total population. The most common malformations include a combined malformation of the external and middle ear, called congenital aural atresia, and 50% of the malformations of the ENT organs are ear anomalies. In malformations of the external ear, the right side is most commonly affected (58-61%), and most cases (about 70-90%) are unilateral.
Key words: social loneliness, adolescence, urban, rural areas.
