EXACERBATION OF INFLAMMATORY INDICATORS IN INFECTION COVID-19 ROLE IN DEGREE ASSESSMENT

Mammadova H.H. Azerbaijan Medical University, Department of Infectious Diseases, Baku Samad Vurgun

Resume

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection. Many methods are used to assess the spread, course, and severity of infection in a timely and accurate manner. Firstly, the diagnostic method using RT-PCR using only swabs from the nasopharynx or oropharynx sometimes gives false results, so other examination methods are used. Recent studies have shown that an important role in assessing the prognosis of the disease is played by biochemical parameters of peripheral blood tests, including inflammatory parameters (CRP, ECS, PCT, etc.).

In this study, we statistically analyzed the parameters of C-reactive protein, ferritin and PCT in a group of patients with complications and found out how important they are in assessing the course of the disease.

The study compared inflammation parameters in blood samples taken at regular intervals from 212 patients diagnosed with Covid-19, divided into age and gender categories. As a result, the importance of such indicators as procalcitonin, C-reactive protein and ferritin in assessing the degree of complications was emphasized.
