Resume

Perforated gastric and duodenal ulcers are rare causes of peritonitis in children. Only a few cases have been described in the medical literature. This is a surgical emergency that, if diagnosed and treated late or incorrectly, can be fatal. We describe the case of a 4-year-old boy with a clinical presentation of diffuse peritonitis. Surgical intervention revealed perforation of the pyloric part of the gastric. The gastric ulcer was sutured with omentopexy. The postoperative period proceeded smoothly. In clinical practice, pediatric surgeons should take into account the presence of a perforated gastroduodenal ulcer in differential diagnosis with other surgical diseases, especially in conditions with pneumoperitoneum.
