DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF PURULENT-INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF THE RETROPERITONEAL SPACE

Resume
The purpose of the study: to improve the effectiveness and make a more accurate diagnosis of the treatment of purulent-inflammatory diseases of the retroperitoneal space.
Materials and methods of research: This study analyzes the results of inpatient treatment of 20 patients aged 25 to 76 years with retroperitoneal abscesses and phlegmon in the department of purulent surgery of the multidisciplinary clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy in 2022-2023. There were 10 men and 10 women.
Results and discussion: Retroperitoneal ulcers were diagnosed in vivo in all 20 patients. At the same time, the role of radiation diagnostic methods is not the same: out of 10 patients who had “hardware” diagnostics, using ultrasonography (ultrasound), retroperitoneal abscess was reliably diagnosed in only 2 and suspected in 2.
All purulent processes in the pelvis were diagnosed only with the help of computed tomography, excluding patients with closed abdominal trauma and with parametritis, in whom they were detected during relaparotomy, as well as with post-injection phlegmon of the inguinal region. The small number of observations does not allow us to draw conclusions about the sensitivity and specificity of diagnostic methods, but makes it possible to note trends.
Thus, retroperitoneal phlegmons and abscesses can complicate the course of various diseases of organs located in or bordering the retroperitoneal tissue, as well as occur as pyemic dropouts. Drainage with two-light tubes or through drainage with flow washing together with adequate therapy of the underlying disease allows to successfully cure purulent processes in the retroperitoneal space.
