Resume

Iin patients who had TIA and stroke, the percentage of occurrence of genotypes S/S, S/A and A/A was 12.3%, 43.4% and 44.3%, respectively, while in patients who had TIA but did not have a stroke, these indicators were 16.0%, 48.7% and 35.3% respectively. The type of polymorphism rs699947 studied in the VEGF-a gene, the distribution of genotypes was investigated in accordance with the Hardy-Weinberg equation. In the main group, the distribution of homozygous genotypes – S/S and A/A at the empirically observed and expected-theoretical levels was 0.136/0.136 and 0.411/0.405, respectively. In the control group, the frequency of these genotypes was 0.187/0.18 and 0.338/0.33, respectively.

Keywords:TIA, VEGF-a gene, stroke.
