Resume

Autistic disorders of childhood have a significant degree of relevance for both neurological and psychiatric profiles, the reasons for this are fairly high prevalence rates, the lack of uniform ideas of etiology and pathogenesis, as well as the difficulty of adequate diagnosis and comprehensive correction. This review briefly outlines the current modern aspects of the epidemiology of these disorders, concepts about the possible mechanism of the formation of autism, discusses existing theories of pathogenesis, risk factors for the development of the disease, as well as methods for their diagnosis and correction.
