Resume,

Laboratory monitoring of the water quality of open water bodies and drinking water is very necessary to assess the degree of contamination and prevent infectious and non-communicable diseases among the population. The decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 27, 2019 “On measures to improve the management of water resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan to increase the level of provision of drinking water to the population and improve its quality” noted that an effective system for monitoring the quality and safety of water resources has not been established on the territory of our republic. In this regard, the main task is to protect water sources and provide the population with high-quality drinking water. The organoleptic properties of water are those properties of water that are perceived by the senses

Here it is appropriate to recall the words of the Russian hygienist F. F. Erisman: “It would be an unforgivable mistake to consider the satisfaction of such an aesthetic need a luxury, because here aesthetics and hygiene merge so much that it is almost impossible to separate them.”

The relevance of studying the organoleptic properties of water in accordance with GOST standards is of great importance for ensuring the health of the population and favorable conditions for sanitary and household water use. The quality of drinking water must comply with hygienic standards before it enters the distribution network, as well as at the points of water intake of the external and internal water supply network. Therefore, the most important element of providing the population with high-quality drinking water is the constant laboratory control of water sources that supply settlements with drinking water.
