Numerous epidemiological studies have shown that MS as a whole occurs in about 25% of the world’s population, and tends to increase and rejuvenate, is one of the main problems of modern medicine and the fifth leading cause of death in the world. Among the known etiological factors of MS, the main places are occupied by common phenomena of our time – such as irrational nutrition, the popularity of “fast food” food – fast food, ingestion of genetically modified foods, food, with an increased amount of carbohydrates and animal fats and, as a result, a violation of the gut microbiome. Oats have an interesting nutritional profile that includes high-quality protein, unsaturated fats, soluble fiber, polyphenol compounds and micronutrients. Randomized, controlled studies conducted in different parts of the world, systematic reviews and meta-analyses showed that oat intake, due to its rich chemical composition, the presence of a probiotic – β – glucan has hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering, antioxidant, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory effects. These properties, in turn, normalize the gut microbiome. These properties of oat grains are useful not only for the prevention, but also therapy of components of metabolic syndrome – obesity, dysslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome in general. Oat processing products need to be widely introduced into the food diet both healthy, in order to prevent, and patients with metabolic syndrome, to treat and prevent complications.
