Resume

Coronavirus infection is a new, not fully understood threat to humanity. Studying changes in human blood parameters during this infection will help to understand the pathogenesis of the disease and systematize the knowledge necessary for the treatment and diagnosis of COVID-19. Patients with coronavirus infection were assessed by clinical symptoms and peripheral blood analysis depending on the severity of the disease. According to the level of severity of clinical signs in the examined patients, cough was detected in 17 (53.1%) patients of group 1, in 20 (66.7%) and 22 (81.5%) patients of groups 2 and 3. Muscle pain, on the contrary, accounted for 92.6% in the group of very severe patients, 18.7% and 53.3% in the group of mild and moderate patients, respectively, and reached a statistical significance (˂0.05). High reliable values of neutrophils and lymphocytes in peripheral blood were obtained as the most important predictors of disease severity and the risk of death in patients.

Key words: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, leukocytosis, lymphopenia, ARVI, ARDS, clinical signs.
