Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a global problem causing enormous human and socioeconomic costs.
WHO defines diabetes as a non-infectious epidemic. Today, more than 200 million people in the world
suffer from diabetes, and their number increases by 6 million every year. Тhe purpose of the work: to
improve the results of the treatment of purulent-necrotic lesions in patients with diabetic foot syndrome
by using abacterial media. Materials and methods: All examined patients, depending on the method of
treatment, were divided into two groups: group I included 62 patients with diabetic foot syndrome with
purulent necrotic lesions, who used wound sanitization with antiseptic drugs and the application of
levomekol ointment under gauze bandages as local treatment. Group II of 48 patients received surgical
treatment of a purulent lesion, sanitation and the use of an abacterial medium. Results: In the course of
the work carried out, a comparative analysis of the dynamics of biochemical parameters, the rate of
purification and wound healing, as well as the timing of inpatient treatment showed the advantage of
using an abacterial medium in the treatment of purulent necrotic lesions in patients with diabetic foot
syndrome. Conclusion: in the treatment of purulent necrotic lesions in patients with diabetic foot
syndrome, the use of a special device for conducting an abacterial environment using EAR-A by
conducting long-term lavage of the affected limb helps to reduce amputation at the shin level from
19.2% to 6.2%, high amputation from 1.7% to zero, amputation of the foot from 25.0% to 12.5%,
reputation 5.3% to zero.
