Resume

Morphological aspects of the structure of the stomach in white outbred rats imply the anatomical and physiological characteristics of this organ. In white outbred rats, the stomach has the shape of an uneven curvature of the letter J. It consists of several sections: cardia, fundus, body and antrum. The cardia forms the entrance to the stomach and connects to the esophagus. The fundus and body are separated from the cardia and are intended for storing and digesting food. The antrum, located at the border of the stomach and duodenum, is responsible for regulating the secretion of gastric juice and preparing food for further digestion. The inner surface of the stomach is covered with a mucous membrane, which contains glands that secrete hydrochloric acid and pepsin, an enzyme necessary for the digestion of proteins. In addition, the stomach wall consists of muscle layers that move and mix food during digestion.
