Resume

Acute intestinal infections (AI) have always been and remain to this day a complex health problem. The aim of the study was to determine the structure and clinical characteristics of bacterial intestinal infections in young children. A survey and observation of 260 children aged from 3 months to 3 years was carried out. General clinical, immunological, bacteriological, serological and static research methods were used. Clinical and laboratory studies conducted in children with bacterial intestinal infections revealed the presence of multidrug-resistant strains of salmonellosis (Salmonella typhimurium var. Сopengagen) in 63% of cases and 36% of Clostridi difficile cases. The incidence of dysentery and escherichiosis among children over one year of age is 2-3 times higher than among children under one year of age. In case of Salmonella and Shigella infections, the intestinal microbiocenosis was characterized by an association of microorganisms. The clinical course of bacterial intestinal infections in young children in modern conditions is determined by the dependence of the etiology of the pathogen, combined damage to parts of the gastrointestinal tract and the tendency to develop relapses of the disease.

Keywords: children, diarrhea, intestinal infections, symptoms.
