Resume

The mortality rate for vascular diseases of the brain is one of the highest in the world. In the structure of the total mortality of the population, stroke ranks second, second only to cardiac pathology; the 30-day mortality rate is 35%, and approximately 50% of patients die during the year, i.e. every second. Disability after a stroke is 3.2 per 10,000 population, ranking first among all causes of primary disability.
