SURGICAL NECROTIZING ENTEROCOLITIS IN NEWBORNS

Introduction. The article presents data and results of treatment of children with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), who were hospitalized with this pathology in the department of intensive care of newborns with surgical pathology at the clinic of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek. Purpose of the study. To evaluate the results of surgical correction in surgical necrotizing enterocolitis in newborns in the conditions of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health Care in Bishkek. Materials and Methods. From 2016 to 2022, 75 newborns with necrotizing enterocolitis aged from 2 days to 16 days were admitted to the intensive care unit of newborns with surgical pathology on the basis of the National Center for Maternal and Childhood Care in Bishkek. Of these, 38 (50.6%) newborns with surgical enterocolitis required surgical correction. Results and Discussion. The majority of all sick newborns with necrotizing enterocolitis had a history of factors leading to centralization of blood circulation due to perinatal hypoxia, asphyxia, or development of septic process. Conclusion. Despite the improvement of medical care for newborns, NEC is the most frequent cause of GI pathology in premature infants and a high percentage of lethal outcome. Taking into account the above mentioned, further research is planned to study the pathophysiology of NEC, its prevention and treatment.
