FEATURES OF THE PSYCHOEMOTIONAL SPHERE IN PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME

Resume
Purpose of the study. To evaluate changes in the psychoemotional sphere in metabolic syndrome. A comprehensive examination of 241 patients selected from among those undergoing outpatient and inpatient treatment at the Andrei State Medical Institute clinic was carried out. Their average age was 43.7 ± 10.8 (from 29 to 72 years). The developed algorithm, which was used to examine patients with MS, included: questioning using a specially designed questionnaire, collecting complaints, life history and illness, measuring arterial hypertension, detecting obesity, impaired glucose tolerance; objective examination: general examination, anthropometry, interpretation of laboratory examination results: data from clinical and biochemical blood tests, lipid profile; instrumental examination: performing electrocardiography and evaluating data from a sonographic examination of the abdominal organs; questionnaire using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS, 1983) to assess the psychological status of the patient; questionnaire using the 36-Item Short Form Survey (SF-36, 1992).
