Resume

In case of esophageal atresia due to a hyper- or hypofunctional state of the mucosa, submucosa and glandular structures, the image reflects chemical changes in the esophagus from a morphological point of view, causing a violation of the local homeostasis of the image. In particular, there is an accumulation of metabolites in the esophageal mucosa, submucosa, muscular and serous membranes, an increase in the content of acidic mucopolysaccharides, and the formation of morphological substrates, which indicates tissue hypoxia and disruption of metabolic processes. It is the intermediate metabolites and food products that accumulate in tissues during atresia that cause swelling of the mucous membrane, erosive-necrotic changes in the wall and perforation processes in the wall of the esophagus.

Keywords: esophageal atresia, histochemistry, SCHIFF, Van Gieson, morphology.
