Resume

In the last decade, the steady growth of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been actively discussed in domestic and foreign literature. In the Russian Federation, the detection rate of NAFLD increased from 27.0% in 2007 to 37.1% in 2014 and ranked first among liver diseases [1,2,3,4]. There are several clinical and morphological forms of NAFLD: from steatosis, reversible with timely treatment, to steatohepatitis, fibrosis, with progression passing into liver cirrhosis and / or hepatocellular carcinoma. In early clinical diagnosis, and therefore timely treatment, the asymptomatic course of the early stage of NAFLD – liver steatosis causes great difficulties [5,6].

Keywords: component composition of the body, total fat, visceral fat, pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
