The many health benefits of bariatric surgery are known, but there is limited data on the benefits of bariatric surgery on thyroid function. PubMed, Medscape, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, Elsevier, ResearchGate, Google Scholar were searched up to and including March 2024 for studies on the effects of bariatric surgery on thyroid hormone levels and postoperative levothyroxine dosage.
