Resume

This article examines the morphological changes in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the spinal facet joint. Literature data on the etiology, pathogenesis, morphogenesis and morphology of facet syndrome are presented. It has been established that with facet syndrome, almost all structural elements of the joint are affected, in particular the arcuate processes of the spine, articular cartilage, the outer fibrous capsule of the joint, as well as surrounding ligaments and muscles.
