Resume

Vaccination against infectious diseases is an effective and cost-effective way to prevent infectious diseases. In 2007, the inclusion of vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella in the national vaccination calendar of the republic led to a decrease in the incidence of this disease several times compared to previous years. However, despite the progress made in the fight against this disease among children, it is noted that the incidence of mumps in adults has increased. To prevent spread of the disease among adults, patients should be isolated and hospitalized first. In adults, unlike children, the disease is not only a lesion of the parotid glands, but also a lesion of the nervous system; the parotid, salivary and gonads are more common. As a result of the disease, neurological symptoms persist in patients for a long time after the illness. It is known from the literature that asthenoneurotic, diencephalic and hypertensive syndromes often occur after mumps meningitis and are observed for a long time. In this article we analyzed the course of the disease and its complications in adults.
