Resume
The folloving survey-article is devoted to the research of stem cells. The data on peculiarities of stem cells and their types both in embryonic period and in adult organism are disclosed here in a plain form. Application of stem cells, which are obtained from blood out of umbilical cord of human embryo, has brought to sensational success in treating oncological diseases of blood and other somatic disorders. Mainly theoretic principles of studies on stem cells and perspectives of their medical usage are illustrated in this work.
