ROLE OF MRI IN TREATMENT STRATIFICATION OF PATIENTS WITH CERVICAL CANCER

Abdullaeva Dono - Tashkent Medical Academy

Resume

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays a key role in accurately staging cervical cancer and was officially included in the 2018 FIGO staging system. MRI can accurately assess tumor size, local and distant invasion, and lymph node involvement, which is important for guiding patients for surgery or chemotherapy. In this review, we highlight key MRI findings and data related to the updated FIGO staging and their implications for the choice of treatment: surgery or chemoradiation.

Key words: gynecological malignancies, cervical malignancies, FIGO staging, MRI.
