Resume

The prevalence of diabetic macular oedema has been reported in many countries around the world, including the Republic of Uzbekistan. The World Health Organisation considers diabetic retinopathy as one of the most common complications associated with diabetes. Diabetic macular oedema (DME) is one of the most commonly observed symptoms of diabetic retinopathy, characterised by oedema caused by leakage of liquid blood from blood vessels in the macula.
