Resume

Ectopia of the cervix is the spread of the epithelium lining the canal of the cervix to its vaginal part. Previously, this condition was called erosion, but, according to new data from researchers, true erosion – a violation of the integrity of the epithelium, occurs very infrequently, and most cases of visually altered mucosa of the external part of the cervix are caused by epithelial displacement, that is, ectopia, or pseudo-erosion. One of such promising and high-tech methods is photodynamic therapy (PDT), based on the selective destruction of proliferating cells as a result of photochemical exposure during the interaction of a photosensitizer (FS) accumulating in them and light of a certain wavelength activating it. photodynamic destruction of the endometrium has a number of advantages in comparison with hormonal therapy, in particular, it allows highly selective removal of the functional and basal layer of the uterine mucosa, without subsequently leading to obliteration of the uterine cavity.
