Resume

The results of forensic medical examinations of 215 corpses of persons killed in collisions with moving cars were analyzed. Among the dead, 173 were men, 42 were women. The age of the victims ranged from 14 to 65 years. For comparative analysis, the results of forensic medical examinations and case materials in relation to 140 children who died in collisions with moving cars were also studied. Among the dead: boys - 91, girls - 49. By age: 6-7 years - 53 cases; 8-10 years - 41; 11-14 years old - 37; and 15-17 years old - 9 cases. It has been established that in the majority of deceased adult pedestrians, diaphyseal fractures of the tibia bones are detected, and relatively less often - femoral bones, formed in the 1st phase of the injury. Combined fractures of the bones of both legs, as well as combined fractures of the bones of one hip and one leg, also turned out to be the most frequently observed injuries in pedestrians in collisions with moving modern passenger cars. In collisions between moving modern passenger cars and pedestrians, “specific” contact damage to the skin and soft tissues extremely rarely occurs. In addition, damage to the underlying soft tissues in the area of the primary impact was characterized by the presence of loose hemorrhage, in the absence of signs of crushing, muscle ruptures and other tissues, usually observed in collisions with older models of cars, in some cases - the presence of a small amount of liquid blood and its clots. At the same time, the body of child pedestrians who died as a result of a car injury most often develops a combined injury, which is dominated by damage to the structure of the head (78%), chest (46.4%), abdomen (50.2%) and limbs (55%), studying the nature of damage to these parts of the body can become the basis for assessing the mechanism of injury. In cases of collisions between child pedestrians and passenger vehicles and trucks, the volume and severity of these combined injuries increases. Damage to the head structure in child pedestrians is most often accompanied by fractures of the frontal, temporal and facial bones, which indicates their formation in the 3rd phase of a car injury - a fall on the road surface.

Key words - car injury, falls from height, fractures of limb bones, nature, morphology, mechanisms.
