IMPROVING THE TREATMENT OF FACIAL AND JAW ABSCESSES AND PHLEGMONS IN CHILDREN AND PREVENTING THEIR COMPLICATIONS

Objective of the Study: The aim of the study is to improve the treatment of facial and jaw abscesses and phlegmons in children and prevent their complications. Materials and Methods: Clinical-dental, laboratory, radiological, microbiological, and immunological methods were used. Clinical examination methods were categorized as primary and additional. Primary examination methods involve collecting objective and subjective data. Subjective examination data are mainly obtained from the patient or, in the case of children, from their parents or relatives, in relation to the medical history of the disease. Additional examination methods include dental radiography of the affected tooth and radiography of the jaws. Laboratory examination methods involve general blood analysis, biochemical analysis, blood coagulation system analysis, and general urine analysis. Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, it was found that the incidence of purulent inflammatory diseases of the facial and jaw region in children is influenced by existing dental conditions and age. The clinical course of the disease depends on the child’s age, the type of causative agent, and the non-specific protective factors of the oral cavity. The outcomes are evaluated based on these factors.
