RESULTS OF ASSESSING THE PREVALENCE OF MYOPIA AMONG SCHOOL STUDENTS

This study was conducted among schoolchildren living in Fergana region. Visual acuity is assessed using D.A. Sivtsev's chart. Medical examinations were conducted with the participation of the school pediatrician, otorhinolaryngologist and research ophthalmologist. The number of schools operating in Fergana region is 1,026, and the number of students in the 11-year educational process in the 2022-2023 academic year is 690,313. It is important to control the number of students and the number of schools, the prevalence of the disease among general education groups and its epidemiological analysis. 15 thousand 892 students from 33 schools in Kuvasoy city, 40 thousand 462 students from 38 schools in Margilan city, 60 thousand 389 students from 67 schools in Fergana city were involved in medical examination. The total number of students in schools under the control of Fergana region is 690,313, of which 346,206 (50.15%) are boys and 344,107 (49.85%) are girls. The difference between the number of boys and girls is not that big. 667 (25.33%) of the 2633 examinees, of which 314 (11.92%) were boys and 353 (13.40%) were girls, were diagnosed with various degrees of myopia. Myopia was diagnosed among 314 boys who participated in the study, 99 of them were 12-15 years old (44.1%), and among 353 girls diagnosed with myopia, 118 (43.2%) were girls of this age. Among 18-year-olds, the highest figure was 54 (50%). Scientific and research works are being carried out in this regard.
