THE IMPACT OF TYPES OF HIGHER NERVOUS ACTIVITY ON HEART RATE VARIABILITY INDICATORS IN FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND ATHLETES

Resume

Objective of the study: To identify the impact of different types of higher nervous activity (HNA) on heart rate variability (HRV) indicators in football players and athletes. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 142 male athletes aged 17-20 years (average age 18.5±1.5 years), including 67 football players and 75 track and field athletes. The athletes were divided into 4 groups based on HNA types: sanguine (41.55%), choleric (28.87%), phlegmatic (19.01%), and melancholic (10.56%). Heart rate variability (HRV) was assessed using the "BioMouse" system, which measured parameters such as heart rate (HR), standard deviation of normal-to-normal RR intervals (SDNN), stress index (SI), low-frequency power (LF), and high-frequency power (HF). Welch's t-test was used to analyze the significance of differences between the groups. Results: The analysis revealed statistically significant differences in HRV indicators between football players and track and field athletes for all HNA types (p<0.01), indicating that both the type of nervous activity and the type of sport influence the autonomic regulation of the cardiovascular system. Sanguine and phlegmatic athletes demonstrated the best adaptation to physical exertion, while choleric and melancholic athletes showed increased sympathetic nervous system activity and lower recovery capacity.
