NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE – AN OVERVIEW OF THE PATHOLOGY

Madaripova D.A. - Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina

Resume

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is characterized by the accumulation of fat in liver cells. This is one of the most common and complex diseases in hepatology. NAFLD leads to a decrease in the quality of life, an increase in disability and mortality of the working population. The concept of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease combines a number of structural changes in the organ. These are steatosis (excess fat in liver cells), non–alcoholic steatohepatitis - a disease accompanied by fat accumulation and an inflammatory reaction of the liver, fibrosis and subsequently cirrhosis.

Keywords: steatohepatosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, steatohepatitis, steatosis, macrovesicular steatosis, microvesicular setatosis.
