Resume

Currently, the early diagnosis of chronic tonsillitis in children, the identification of risk factors, the appointment of etiopathogenetic therapy for the prevention of relapses, taking into account the peculiarities of clinical and laboratory manifestations and the prevention of the disease are among the problems that need to be solved in medicine. The basis for this study was the high incidence and significance of CMV in children. Chronic tonsillitis on the background of CMV infection exacerbates the course of the process and leads to the early development of complications of chronic tonsillitis. In solving these problems, the use of genetically engineered recombinant α-interferons (Genferon) with complex antiviral, antibacterial, antiproliferative and immunomodulatory effects seems promising. In our study, Genferon showed high efficacy and good patient tolerance. Genferon may be recommended for the complex treatment of CMV infection in children.
