POSSIBILITIES OF MRT IN DETERMINING PRIMARY STAGING OF LOCALLY DISSEMINATED RECTAL CANCER

Resume

The article reviews the latest advances in radiology in rectal cancer. It demonstrates the high role of high-quality imaging in the diagnosis of rectal cancer, describes in detail the capabilities of magnetic resonance imaging in the primary diagnosis of the disease and in tumor restaging, discusses the optimal methodology for conducting the study and the principles of interpreting the data obtained in everyday practice. Key words: rectal cancer, diagnostics, assessment of prevalence, neoadjuvant treatment, magnetic resonance imaging.examination methods and interpretation of images in routine are discussed.
