Resume

Fractures of the proximal humerus account for 5-6% of all musculoskeletal injuries, or 50 per 100,000 population, but over the past 30 years, this figure has increased several times. Typically, these injuries occur most often in older patients (over 50-60 years old), often on the background of osteoporosis, and are caused by low-energy trauma according to the mechanism of injury.
