Resume

The article examines the clinical aspects of diagnosing periodontal diseases in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study included 124 patients with various stages of diabetes and 60 individuals in a control group. Diagnostic procedures involved the evaluation of dental indices (OHI-S, DMF, PMA, CPI), analysis of the oral mucosa condition, and microbiological testing to identify Candida species. It was established that patients with type 2 diabetes exhibit a high frequency of inflammatory-destructive changes in periodontal tissues, pronounced symptoms of oral mucosal dryness, and significant deterioration of dental indicators compared to the control group. The findings underscore the importance of comprehensive dental examinations for timely detection and correction of pathologies.
