Resume
Gut microbiota is crucial in autoimmune disease (AID) pathogenesis, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Elevated IL-1β and IL-17 levels were observed, correlating with increased Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae and reduced Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus. In RA, IL-17 and IL-1β reached 113.4 ± 13.3 pg/mL and 43.1 ± 6.2 pg/mL at GSRS≥4. These findings highlight microbiota's role in inflammation and the therapeutic potential of probiotics and prebiotics in improving outcomes.
Keywords: microbiota, cytokines, IL-17, IL-1β, autoimmune diseases.
