Resume

The work studied the influence of chronic viral infection in patients with hepatitis C on changes in immunological parameters and leukocyte DNA methylation. It was concluded that the studies confirm the differences in the serological profile between the groups with HCV postinfection and chronic HCV infection, which may indicate differences in the stage and characteristics of the infectious process in each of these groups. In the blood serum of relatively healthy individuals, in patients with HCV post-infection, significantly more pronounced liver function tests were observed, but within the reference values, and these indicators were significantly and significantly higher in patients with chronic HCV infection. In patients with HCV post-infection, a reliable increase in pro-inflammatory interleukins was noted in relation to healthy individuals. However, in patients with chronic HCV infection, a more significant and reliable increase in pro-inflammatory interleukins was observed. At the same time, when studying changes in the activity of DNA methyltransferase 1 and the 5-methyl-2'-deoxycytidine index in the leukocyte lysates. In patients with chronic HCV infection, a significantly pronounced increase in these indicators was noted and a less pronounced increase in them in patients with HCV post-infection. These changes in patients with chronic HCV infection can be considered as increased methylation as a pronounced relationship between changes in liver and immunological parameters and DNA methylation in blood leukocytes. This allows for a deeper understanding of the nature of changes in chronic HCV infection and the post-infection period.

Keywords: chronic HCV hepatitis, interleukins, DNA methyltransferase 1, 5-methyl-2-deoxycytidine, liver function tests, DNA methylation.
