Resume

Emotional burnout syndrome (EBS) is a serious problem among healthcare workers, especially nurses. It leads to a decrease in the quality of medical care, an increase in the number of errors, absenteeism and layoffs, as well as deterioration in the mental and physical health of the nurses themselves. The introduction of effective EBS psycho-prophylaxis programs can not only improve the health and well-being of nurses, but also bring a significant economic effect. The field of nursing is the profession with the greatest predisposition to the syndrome of "professional" or "emotional" burnout, since it is constant communication with people, in addition to patients and their relatives, throughout the working day, requiring care, attention and restraint. This paper examines the problem of emotional burnout syndrome in nurses and its economic consequences for medical institutions. Based on the analysis of data on the prevalence of EBS, treatment costs and sick leave payments, as well as the potential benefits from the introduction of psycho-prophylactic programs, the economic effectiveness of such measures is assessed. The study shows that the introduction of EBS psycho-prophylaxis in nurses is economically justified and leads to a reduction in treatment costs, improved quality of care and improved working conditions for medical personnel.
