MORPHOMETRIC INDICATORS OF THE EPIDERMIS OF CHILDREN WITH ATOPIC DERMATITIS

Resume

In the article, a comprehensive analysis of the epidermis was conducted using modern morphometric methods, including histomorphometric examination and digital data processing technologies. The criteria for patient inclusion and exclusion were thoroughly examined, confirming the validity of the selected study groups. Special attention was given to the comparative analysis of children with atopic dermatitis (AD) and patients with a combination of AD and recurrent obstructive bronchitis (ROB). The results revealed an increase in cellular infiltration of the skin in children with AD, primarily due to a higher presence of eosinophils, lymphocytes, and macrophages. A pattern of intensified cellular infiltration was observed as the affected skin area increased, indicating a pronounced inflammatory process. Additionally, a significant thickening of the spinous layer of the epidermis was identified, suggesting hyperplastic changes in the skin. A high degree of variability in the thickness of the stratum corneum and spinous layer was established, which may reflect different degrees of pathological process severity. In the group of patients with AD and ROB, cellular infiltration was less pronounced, likely due to specific immune response characteristics in the presence of both conditions.
