Resume
Myeloproliferative neoplasias (MPNs) are a group of clonal hematologic diseases characterized by unregulated proliferation of one or more myeloid lineages of hematopoietic cells. In recent decades, scientific interest in the molecular-genetic mechanisms of development of this pathology has increased significantly, especially in the context of regional population peculiarities. Khorezm region, as a unique geographical and ethnic region of Uzbekistan, creates special conditions for studying genetic features of myeloproliferative neoplasia. The SuperOxide Dismutase 2 (SOD2) gene encoding manganese-dependent superoxide dismutase plays a critical role in the regulation of oxidative stress and protection of cells from the damaging effects of reactive oxygen species.
