Resume

This article analyzes the mechanisms of development of vegetative and psychosomatic dysfunction in STN based on modern scientific data. Particular attention has been paid to the role of substances such as Substance P, CGRP, serotonin, noradrenaline, cortisol, and cytokines, as well as neurophysiological processes, including nerve compression, demyelination, central sensitization, and autonomic nervous system activation. Understanding these mechanisms is necessary for developing comprehensive therapeutic approaches aimed not only at pain relief but also at correcting comorbidities. The article also provides an overview of key research conducted worldwide on this topic, highlighting the relevance and multifaceted nature of the problem.

Key words: trigeminal nerve (TPN) neuralgia, substance P, chronic pain.
